Watermelon Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Half a watermelon cut into cubes (about 5 cups)
  • 1/4 cup sugar more if your watermelon is not sweet
  • Juice of 2-3 lemons see notes
  • 1 cup chilled water for blending
  • 1/4 cup hot water For simple syrup

Method
 

  1. Cook the sugar in 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring <g class="gr_ gr_612 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="612" data-gr-id="612">occasionally,</g> until the sugar is completely melted.
  2. Alternatively, you can just dissolve the sugar in 1/4 cup of hot water. This works just as well.
  3. Squeeze lemons into a large pitcher.
  4. In a blender, blend watermelon and some water in batches
  5. Pour this mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into <g class="gr_ gr_119 gr-alert gr_gramm Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" id="119" data-gr-id="119"> the pitcher</g>.

  7. Serve over ice.

Notes

Use 2 lemons if you prefer it mildly sour. If you prefer it sour, you can use 3 lemons.
