My ramblings and a giveaway!

Maya

It has been almost “customary” for me to write a blog post when Ramadan is approaching. Last year, I wrote 1 month prior to Ramadan. This year, it’s 1 day before Ramadan. lol

Anyways, I have been busy with a couple of things. The best news is, we are almost done with spring-cleaning. Hmm like 95% done. It was a team effort obviously. So kudos to US!

My brother bought a new fridge and a new television. Although I wasn’t excited about the new television, as I don’t watch much television, yet I was super excited over the fridge! A bigger fridge = once a week marketing. A bigger fridge = the ability to store a tub or two of frozen yogurt/ice cream in it! A bigger fridge = extra space for home-made Popsicles using fruit juices. AH…I just love the endless possibilities.

So yup, we are pretty much ready to usher in Ramadan. 🙂 I just looooooove Ramadan. I know, I have said it ever so often, but I really reaaaally love Ramadan for the serenity, the inner peace that I enjoy and the closeness that we share as a family. And not forgetting the fact that there isn’t a need to prepare breakfast and lunch. :p

On a more serious note, I believe the hunger and thirst teaches us to reflect on the many many blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Food may just be a call away from us (#62353535) but there are those unfortunate ones that do not have to fast to know the real meaning of hunger.

Despite the fact that we are just a dot on the world map, we have been blessed with many material bounties, peace and security. Although we seem to have endless complaints over certain issues, yet I am grateful that we do not have to live in fear. The blessing of security is something that most of us take for granted, including myself.

Anyways, I am not gonna be baking like crazy this year. I would really like to stroll through Ramadan, stop and smell the roses along the way. I would still be baking though. Eid wouldn’t be complete without yummy home made goodies!

I am still thinking as to what goodies I should serve our guests this year. If i do get time in hand, our guests are in for a gastronomical delight. If i don’t, I would still make yummy cookies and cakes!

What would you be baking this year? Do you usually buy or bake your Eid goodies?
If you are used to buying, why don’t you surprise your family and guests with something home made this year?

What If I tell you, you can make gorgeous cookies in less than half an hour?
Would that make you bake cookies, instead of buying?

If the answer is yes, do share your thoughts and you will stand a chance to win our
best-selling triple chocolate chip premix worth $16!

To enter, just leave a comment on this post and let me know as to why you think home-made cookies at better than those point and buy cookies.

Deadline to enter is Sunday, July 14th 2013, 23:59 Singapore Time.
I will then randomly choose three winners. Yes not one, not two but THREE winners! It is the season of giving after all! 🙂

Results would be announced on Tuesday, july 16th.

*Contest is open for residents of Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia only.

Sorry international readers, but there would be a next time. Promise! 🙂
