Rachael Ray Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

- 1½ pounds asparagus spears, trimmed 4 to 5 inches long tips
- Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- 250g bacon (I used beef bacon)
- A few grinds black pepper and salt
- Chopped chives or scallions for garnishing
- Preheat oven, to 400 degrees F.
- You can grill these too.
- Lightly coat asparagus spears in extra-virgin olive oil. Season the asparagus with black pepper and salt.
- Gather 2-3 asparagus (depending on the size) and use a slice of bacon to wrap the bundle and secure the spears together.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Bake/grill the asparagus for about 12 minutes until the bacon is crisp and asparagus bundles are tender.
